encountering the unexpected is part and parcel with the experience of travelling to unknown places, but this weekend has brought especially delightful surprises to me. a night out in oxford with new folks who are becoming ever more familiar ended in a tour of ‘nightlife’ is this ancient, picturesque town - and there’s something charming about dancing to n*sync, the backstreet...

finding north
halfway through “north week” (the week prior to term), and i feel that if i get any more welcomed or oriented i will lose my marbles. that said with the addendum that everyone has been incredibly kind and helpful, and i couldn’t be more grateful… alright, i could not fall asleep during chapel, but i think these brits don’t realize the extent of the culture shock for a...
i’ll count it as a victory to have taught two bartenders how to make a hot toddy tonight. accidental walking tour of oxford with two cool cats, ginger & jack on the front curb. paul simon’s graceland and a new appreciation of wilco.
